'Won’t Let You Make India Taliban’: CM Mamata Targets PM Modi, Amit Shah In Bhabanipur

“Narendra Modi Ji, Amit Shah ji, we won't let you make India like Taliban. India will remain united...,” Banerjee said.

Bhabanipur: Launching a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be allowed to make India like the Taliban and added the nation will remain united.

“Narendra Modi Ji, Amit Shah ji, we won't let you make India like Taliban. India will remain united...,” Banerjee said.

“Gandhi ji, Netaji, Vivekananda, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Guru Nanak ji, Gautam Buddha, Jains...all will stay together in the country. We won’t let anyone divide India,” she added, ANI reported.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo, who was addressing a public rally in Bhabanipur, alleged the BJP is a “jumla” party.

“They lie saying that we don't allow Durga Puja, Laxmi Puja in the state,” she added.

Banerjee’s remarks come as she is gearing up for the upcoming Bhabanipur by-poll.

The TMC chief had earlier accused the BJP of pursuing vendetta politics stating that her party leaders are being summoned by central agencies just after the announcement of dates for the by-polls.

Banerjee, who lost the election in Nandigram to protégé-turned-rival Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP, has to win this by-poll to retain her post.

The TMC supremo has to become a member of the state legislature by November 5.
