West Bengal: 19-Yr-Old Youth Kills Family, Keeps Them Buried For 4 Months
The accused, Asif Mohammad confessed to having suffocated his family members and threatened his brother of the same consequence if he stepped out of the house.
Malda: A 19-year-old youth was arrested by Kaliachak Police in connection with the killing of his father, mother, sister, and grandmother following an altercation over a family dispute in Malda, West Bengal. The incident took place in the old 18-mile village of Kaliachak.
The youth surrendered to the Kaliachak Police when his brother filed a complaint after four months of the incident. The accused, Asif Mohammad confessed to having suffocated his family members and threatened his brother of the same consequence if he stepped out of the house.

Locals claimed that Asif asked his father to buy him gadgets like computers and laptops, which he needed to develop an application on his computer. “It was a well-to-do family. His father brought him all the gadgets. They even sold out property to meet Asif’s needs," said their neighbor, Arjun. “Asif tried to avoid the eyes of his neighbors. He told us that his family was out of town for a while," Arjun added.
According to police sources, Asif dug a hole in the warehouse wall and buried the bodies in the basement. “The accused did not allow the maid to enter the house to avoid suspicion. He ordered food through online apps and lived alone for quite some time,” they added.
Psychiatrist Sabyasachi Mitra explained the angle of mental illness attributed to the case He said, “It is a ghastly incident. The investigation is still in the shadows, so it is difficult to make a comment on the accused. However, there is always a psychological issue in such cases. The police also need to look into the young man’s criminal record.”
The local police is currently working to excavate the dead bodies and dig out the real motive of the murder.
