'We Should Wind Up This If...': Omar Abdullah's Big Statement On INDIA Bloc

Omar Abdullah's NC fought the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections in alliance with Congress and formed the first government after the abrogation of Article 370.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah whose party, National Conference, is a member of the INDIA bloc has commented on the future of the opposition alliance that was formed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Abdullah said there is no clarity on agenda and leadership in the alliance. "There is no INDIA bloc meeting being held. It would be nice if a meeting would be called so that we can get clarity. If the alliance was only for Parliamentary elections then we should wind up this, otherwise, if it’s for the Assembly elections as well then we need to work together," he said.

He also commented on the fight between INDIA block partners AAP and Congress in the Delhi elections and said the parties that are on the ground need to decide how they wish to fight against the BJP.

Omar Abdullah's NC fought the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections in alliance with Congress and formed the first government after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The alliance won 49 of the 90 seats. National conference won the highest number of seats at 42, while Congress won just six seats.
