WBSSC Scam: ED Calls Partha Chatterjee 'Non-Cooperating', Says He Is Avoiding Questions

The official also said that Partha Chatterjee did not speak anything on the issue of a conspiracy that he referred to while speaking to journalists when he was taken to ESI Hospital at Joka for a medical check up.

Former West Bengal and Trinamool Congress (TMC) minister Partha Chatterjee who is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for an alleged multi-crore school job scam has not been cooperating with the investigating agency, reported news agency PTI. He has “not replied” to most of their questions in connection with the probe, said an ED official Monday, reported the news agency.

The official also said that Partha Chatterjee did not speak anything on the issue of a conspiracy that he referred to while speaking to journalists when he was taken to ESI Hospital at Joka for a medical check up.

“He has been non-cooperating with us since he was arrested. He is often complaining of tiredness and avoiding our questions. We have asked Chatterjee about his claims that the money does not belong to him So, we are looking for the source of the money,” the ED official further said, as reported to PTI.

Chatterjee on Friday had denied allegations levelled against him in the WBSSC scam and called himself a victim of conspiracy. He also expressed displeasure over TMC’s decision to suspend him from the party.

He also claimed on Sunday that the money recovered during ED raids does not belong to him and only time will tell who all have “conspired” against him, reported PTI.

Nearly Rs 50 crore in cash along with gold were recovered from two apartments of Arpita Mukherjee - a close aide of Chatterjee - in raids conducted by the ED.

Mukherjee has, however denied that the the recovered money and pieces of gold from her flats are her's.
