Viral Sach: Goods train bogie reaches destination after delay of 3 years?
New Delhi: In a viral message that mocks Indian Railways, it is being alleged that one bogie of goods train starting from Vishakhapatnam took a time of three years, eight months and 22 days to reach its destination in Uttar Pradesh.
The message claims that the distance should have been covered in 42 hours and 13 minutes. It also claimed that goods worth Rs. 10 lakh were also wasted.
Upon investigating the message for its authenticity, it was found that this story of delay is true.
Three years ago the goods train was dispatched with DAP (diammonium phosphate ) for Ramchandra Gupta of Uttar Pradesh. 42 wagons loaded with the material successfully reached the destination but one wagon went missing. Three years later the bogie reached the destination with some other train but the chemicals that was to be used as fertilisers had lost properties.
Sanjay Yadav the chief PRO of Railway (the North-East Zone) informed, “these wagons get lost when the materials loaded inside them get defiled or spoilt. In such cases, the wagon cannot be moved further and is cut off by the train. The goods are then checked or replaced and then sent back again. Some fault presumably happened at this stage”.
The message of bogie reaching the destination after a delay of three years has been proved true after the Railways accepted its fault.
