Vaccination Update | ‘81 Centres, 100 Persons, 4 Days A Week’: How Delhi Will Kick Off Its Vaccination Drive

Delhi CM announced that 100 persons will be vaccinated at the centres each day, and the process will be conducted on four days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Covid-19 Vaccination: Ahead of the rollout of the mega Covid vaccination drive of India, Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday laid out the roadmap of vaccination process in the national territory. He announced that 100 persons will be vaccinated at the centres each day, and the process will be conducted on four days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Kejriwal said that Centre provides 10% extra vaccine, taking damage into account. So the 2,74,000 doses will be sufficient for around 1,20,000 health workers. The Delhi government is all set for the first phase of the immunisation exercise with healthcare workers being put in the front line to get the dose. The first batch of Covishield vaccine containing 2.64 lakh doses reached Delhi's central storage facility at Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) on Tuesday amid high security. A senior official at the hospital said 22 boxes, each containing 1,200 vials of the Oxford University COVID-19 vaccine, were delivered to the facility. Each vial of 5 milliliters has 10 doses. India's drugs regulator has approved Oxford COVID-19 vaccine Covishield, manufactured by the Serum Institute, and indigenously developed Covaxin of Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use in the country
