UP police arrest 800 eve-teasers in 2 days

Uttar Pradesh: UP police seems to be working on its law and order, which has been a major concern for the people living and who travel to the state for work.Acting strongly against the 'unsafe state' image,  UP police has arrested 800 people in last two days, in an attempt to fix the law and order condition. Speaking to a news agency, UP DG Daljeet Chowdury said, “The arrests made by the police have been made on the charges of eve-teasing and stalking women”. "We have formed a special anti-eve teasing squad to manage such incidents. Our main idea is to give warning and counselling to these eve-teasers”. DG also ensured that said that "the women helpline 1090 is active for 24 hours; and any woman can call on the same and file a complaint regarding anyone who they feel has been stalker her or eve-teasing her. He also added that even female police officers have been made a part of this special team. Since it has been only couple of days that CM Adityanath has resumed office, such action against eve-teasers is gives across a strong message and would hopefully reduce the number of such cases reported on the daily basis.
