Twitter Removes Amit Shah's DP After Somebody Made Copyright Claim Over It; Reinstates Later

Shah’s profile picture was taken down after a bizarre copyright claim on the image by somebody. As soon as questions were raised on the action, Twitter realized its mistake and restored the DP.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s display picture (DP) on the popular micro-blogging website Twitter on Thursday night. It however, reinstated the picture after some time. As soon as questions were raised on the action, Twitter realized its mistake and restored the DP. A message was display on the DP of Shah saying 'Media not displayed'. Twitter stated in the message that the picture has been removed after someone claimed a copyright on it. Twitter spokesperson later issued a statement saying the account was locked under global copyright policies, but was immediately restored as decision was reversed. “Due to an inadvertent error, we temporarily locked this account under our global copyright policies. This decision was reversed immediately and the account is fully functional,” said Twitter Spokesperson on Home Minister Amit Shah's account being temporarily locked yesterday evening Shah is a popular figure on social media being the second leader in the country after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in terms of highest followers. He has 23.6 million followers. The Home Minister follows only 296 people. Meanwhile, many  reactions appeared on the site over who can claim on the picture of the Home Minister.
