We Would Have Secured 150 Seats If It Wasn’t For LJP: Sushil Kumar Modi
The NDA won the Bihar election with 125 seats in the 243-member state assembly. But according to Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Lok Janshakti Party(LJP) prevented them from securing 150 seats.
New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance(NDA) has emerged as the winner in the nail-biting Bihar election this year with 125 seats in the 243-member state assembly against 110 clinched by the opposition Grand Alliance. With the victory, the Nitish Kumar government gets fourth successive term in the state.
But the Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi expressed his disappointment for not securing the 150 seat mark and blamed Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party(LJP) for the fall.
"We lost about 25-30 seats and LJP candidates secured 10,000 to 15,000 votes reducing our margin for victory. If LJP did not act as 'vote katwa' (vote cutter) then maybe we would have reached 150 seats," said Modi during an interview with ABP News.
