Sonia Gandhi must apologise for this act: Shahnawaz Hussain on Modi effigy row

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, on Thursday, has come down heavily on the incident of burning effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi inside JNU campus by the NSUI, on the occasion of Dussehra. The BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, said to ABP News, "The Congress has come down to cheap activity" and added the country will never pardon the Congress party for insulting the leaders whom the nation loved. We have never expected that the Congress will touch this low level, he added. In India, burning the effigy of Indian PM like this is condemnable and a case must be filed against them, BJP spokesperson said. Congress president Sonia Gandhi must apologise for this act as it is not at all acceptable, he said and added police will act on this issue. It is pertinent to mention here that NSUI is student wing of the Congress party. They have recorded the entire incident on camera and also raised objectionable slogans against PM Modi. The footage is getting viral on social media. The PM is projected as Ravana in the video. The incident took place on the occasion Vijayadashami. Anil Meena who claimed to has uploaded the footage said, “The clip is from inside JNU and we all were present at the time of the incident.” “In democracy everyone has the right to protest”, he said and added the during the time of the Congress, BJP also used to burnt many effigies of prominent Congress leaders.
