Sidhu’s hug diplomacy goes hit! Pak to open ‘Kartarpur Sahib’ doors for Indians
The Indians will be allowed to do darshan of the same without a visa.
New Delhi: Days after Punjab Congress minister Navjot Singh Sidhu hugged Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa during newly elected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s oath taking ceremony, Pakistan has extended an olive branch towards India by opening doors of Kartarpur corridor for Indians.
As per sources, the much awaited decision came as an aftermath of Sidhu’s hug diplomacy; which attracted a lot of criticism from various parties.
When then questioned about why did he hug the Chief of Army of the rival Pakistan, he had asserted that Bajwa told him on his meeting that “Pakistan could decide on opening the doors of Kartapur sahib for Indians; hence I hugged him”.
The sources tell that the door of Kartapur Sahib shall be opened on the 550th Birth anniversary of Sikh guru Gurunanank Devji which falls in November.
The Indians will be allowed to do darshan of the same without a visa.
Indians have been seeking the permission from Pakistan for their entry in Kartapur corridor for years.
Speaking on the same, Sidhu in an exclusive conversation with ABP News said “the major decision has made lives of thousands of Punjabis and Sikhs”.
He further said “I thank my friend and PM Imran Khan for the decision and also urge my government to take one step”. He also asserted that he is ready to drag himself to Pakistan, lying on the floor as a gesture of thanks.
India is yet to receive an official statement from Pakistan on the same.
