Senior Ministers, BJP Leaders Meet Nadda As Cabinet Reshuffle Buzz Grows Stronger

Senior BJP leaders and Union ministers are seen getting in and out of the party's Delhi headquarters amid a buzz of a Cabinet reshuffle at the Centre.

The BJP headquarters remained busy for the second consecutive day as several ministers and senior leaders held meetings with party president JP Nadda and other functionaries on Wednesday. Speculation about organizational and ministerial reshuffling added to the buzz surrounding these activities. Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel had a meeting with the BJP chief, while Sunil Jakhar, the newly appointed Punjab unit chief of the BJP, also visited the party office and had a meeting with Nadda, reported news agency PTI.

Other ministers, such as Jyotiraditya Scindia, are also expected to visit the party office to meet Nadda. The BJP on Tuesday announced the appointments of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Sunil Jakhar, and Babulal Marandi as the presidents of the party's Telangana, Punjab, and Jharkhand units, respectively.

Union ministers, such as Arjun Ram Meghwal, Kiren Rijiju, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Bhupender Yadav, also met Nadda. Party insiders said Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat met BJP general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh, while another minister, S P S Baghel, met Nadda. The details of these meetings have not been officially disclosed, but it is believed that more leaders have been meeting with central leaders in recent days.

A BJP leader emphasized that these meetings should not be directly linked to speculation about the Cabinet reshuffle. The party is planning various organizational programs, and such interactions have been a regular part of their activities.

PM Narendra Modi on July 3 held a meeting with the Council of Ministers. PM Modi said he had a "fruitful meeting" with the Council amid the growing speculation about an imminent Cabinet reshuffle. The meeting took place at the newly built convention centre at the Pragati Maidan, which will host the G20 summit in September. "Had a fruitful meeting with the Council of Ministers, where we exchanged views on diverse policy-related issues," PM Modi tweeted after chairing a nearly four-hour meeting of the Union Council of Ministers.

PM Modi also asked his ministers to go all out over the next nine months to inform people about the work done by the government ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. On June 28, Prime Minister Modi held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda. This meeting followed previous closed-door discussions involving Shah, Nadda, and other prominent figures to assess organisational and political affairs.
