'Rather Than Chintan, Congress Should Do Aatma-Chintan': BJP On Chintan Shivir
Responding, BJP national media incharge Anil Baluni said Sonia Gandhi should focus her efforts on recovering her party's fortunes.
New Delhi: The Congress should focus on being relevant rather than worrying about the country, which is in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's capable hands, the BJP said on Friday, news agency PTI reported.
The BJP's jab at the Congress came as the main opposition party, the Congress, launched a three-day brainstorming session, Chintan Shivir, in Rajasthan's Udaipur, where its president, Sonia Gandhi, slammed the Modi administration.
Responding, BJP national media incharge Anil Baluni said Sonia Gandhi should focus her efforts on recovering her party's fortunes.
"Rather than 'chintan' (brainstorming) about the country, Congress should do "aatma-chintan' (introspection) about its survival, as the party is totally disconnected from both the ground (realities) and the masses," he was quoted by PTI in its report.
According to him, the country is in the safe hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and his government is capable of taking care of it.
Baluni stated that the people have complete trust in Prime Minister Modi's leadership, under which the country has reached new heights.
"People have unflinchingly supported the BJP by voting in its favour consistently, whereas the Congress is frustrated and has been clueless about how to behave as a responsible opposition," Baluni said.
Sonia Gandhi, speaking at the Congress conference, accused Prime Minister Modi of perpetuating polarisation in the country, "brutalising" minorities and "threaten[ing]" political opponents by manipulating institutions.
Baluni believes the Congress should perform "chintan" over law and order issues and alleged atrocities against Dalits and women in Rajasthan, where it is in power.
"The country is completely safe and progressing under Prime Minister Modi's leadership," he said.
