Rajasthan Govt Announces Weekend Curfew From Friday Till Monday, Essential Services Exempted
Making the announcement, Gehlot also said that during the weekend curfew essential services will be exempted.
Jaipur: In the wake of significantly rising Coronavirus cases, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government has announced a weekend curfew in the state from 6 pm on April 16 (Friday) till 5 am on April 19 (Monday).
As per reports, Rajasthan Home Minister Anil Vij will issue detailed guidelines on the weekend curfew soon.
The announcement was made by CM Gehlot on Thursday evening on micro-blogging site Twitter. "Due to increasing cases of Corona, curfew will remain in Rajasthan from 6 am tomorrow till to 5 am on Monday. I appeal to all of you to cooperate with the government during the curfew and follow the Covid appropriate behaviour," he tweeted in Hindi.
Making the announcement, Gehlot also said that during the weekend curfew essential services will be exempted. These include vegetable shops, fruit shops, milk supply, LPG supply and banking services.
Looking at the alarming surge in the number of Covid-19 cases, Rajasthan government had earlier announced a night curfew acorss the state between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. from April 16-30.

All markets, work places and commercial complexes shall remain closed during the night curfew. The markets and commercial centres have been directed to close by 5 p.m. so that people can reach their houses by 6 p.m.
Rajasthan reported a record single-day spike of 6,200 new cases, while 29 people succumbed to the virus on Wednesday. Jaipur reported the highest of cases at 1,325. The state presently has 44,905 active cases.
