'BJP Is Going To Be Taken Down By Congress Only': Rahul Gandhi As His Yatra Completes 100 Days

Rahul Gandhi said Congress was standing firm against fascism and no one should underestimate the party. He also addressed the factionalism issue in Rajasthan Congress unit.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the BJP would be "taken down" by the Congress only as the party's Bharat Jodo Yatra completed 100 days, PTI reported. Addressing reporters in Rajasthan, Gandhi said Congress was standing firm against fascism and no one should underestimate the party.

"A lot of people have this fantasy that the Congress party is finished. But I can say that the Congress party can never be finished and mark my words the BJP is going to be taken down by the Congress party," Gandhi told reporters.

"There is a systematic defamation campaign against me personally and the Congress party. The idea that the party is withering away is being preached by the BJP. Congress is an ideological party, standing firm against fascism," Gandhi further said.

The former Congress chief said no regional party could represent the vision for the country. "They can represent vision for a community or state but not for country," he said.

Asked about the exodus of leaders from the Congress in the recent past, Gandhi cited the party's win in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election.

"If certain people want to leave the Congress party, if some lack the courage to take on the BJP, they are welcome to leave the party. We don't want them. We want those who believe in the Congress party and don't believe in fascism," he said.

Addressing the issue of factionalism in Rajasthan Congress, Gandhi said it would not hurt the party's prospects in the assembly election due next year.

With Ashok Gehlot by his side, Gandhi said, "Critics felt Bharat Jodo Yatra will fail in Rajasthan due to factionalism, but it's been a huge success here."

"If we utilise our workers well, we will be able to ensure a massive victory for Congress in Rajasthan," he further said.

Squabbling and infighting between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot camps have plagued the ruling party in Rajasthan over the past two years.

Playing down the recent incident of defiance by Gehlot camp members during the Congress president poll, Gandhi said, "In our structure there is clarity. We are not a dictatorship. We like discussion."

"There is no confusion within our party. Such things happen sometimes in our party, there is no problem," he further said.
