President Kovind, PM Modi & Others Pay Tribute To Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee On His Birth Anniversary

In 2014, the Modi government had announced that Vajpayee’s birth anniversary would be celebrated as Good Governance Day. 

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and others remembered former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary today. 

President Kovind and PM Modi reached at Vajpayee's memorial, 'Sadaiv Atal' in the morning and paid their floral tribute to the former Prime Minister of India on his birth anniversary. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Piyush Goyal also paid their floral homage to Vajpayee.  

“Tributes to respected Atal ji on his birth anniversary. Remembering Atal Ji on his Jayanti. We are inspired by his rich service to the nation. He devoted his life towards making India strong and developed. His development initiatives positively impacted millions of Indians,” tweeted PM Modi.

 

In 2014, the Modi government had announced that Vajpayee’s birth anniversary would be celebrated as Good Governance Day.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to the former PM and extended his greetings for the Good Governance Day. “During the tenure of his Prime Minister, Atalji laid the foundation of a strong India by taking many visionary decisions and at the same time showed the vision of good governance in the country. Every year the Modi government celebrates 'Good Governance Day' with great enthusiasm by remembering the contributions of Atalji. Happy Good Governance Day to all,” Shah wrote in his tweet. 

 

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar also paid his tribute to Vajpayee. The Minister tweeted, “Pay my homage to Bharat Ratna Pradhan Mantri Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his 97th birth anniversary. His contributions to our economic modernization and national security can never be forgotten. He will forever remain the guiding inspiration as we progress towards a more prosperous and secure India.”

 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also paid his homage to the former Prime Minister of the country. “Tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his birth anniversary,” he tweeted.
