PM Modi Launches Crash Course For Covid Frontline Workers, 1 Lakh People To Be Trained

Prime Minister's office said, the launch commenced the programme in 111 training centres spread over 26 states.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched six Customized Crash Course programme for COVID-19 frontline workers via video conferencing. 

Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mahendra Nath Pandey was also present on the occasion.

PM said that the government is working towards preparing 1 lakh frontline workers in the country.

Addressing the frontline workers in the programme under Skill India, PM said that Coronavirus is still creating havoc so the nation needs more frontline workers to learn and take responsibility in such unprecedented times.

PM also hailed the doctors nurse, health care, Aanganwadi, AASHA workers for working tirelessly towards the vaccination campaign.

Aim of the crash course programme

The programme aims to skill and upskill over one lakh COVID warriors across the country. The training will be imparted to COVID warriors in six customised job roles namely Home Care Support, Basic Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Emergency Care Support, Sample Collection Support, and Medical Equipment Support.

The programme has been designed as a special programme under the Central Component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0, with a total financial outlay of Rs. 276 crore, the PMO said.

PM Modi also focused on the vaccination drive and said that from 21st June India will witness an expansion of inoculation drive and 18+ age group will get the same befits of covid vaccination as the 45+.

PM also advised everyone to not take Coronavirus lightly even though the cases are decreasing and follow all the Covid guidelines responsibly.
