PM Modi Will Preside Over NITI Aayog's 7th Governing Council Meeting Today — Check Complete Schedule

This would be the Governing Council's first in-person meeting since July 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday will preside over the seventh meeting of Niti Aayog's Governing Council at the Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre in the national capital, news agency ANI reported.

This would be the Governing Council's first in-person meeting since July 2019.

Crop diversification and self-sufficiency in oilseeds and pulses, as well as agri-communities, are on the agenda, as are implementation of the National Education Policy-school education, implementation of the National Education Policy-higher education, and urban governance.

The seventh governing council meeting of the government think tank Niti Aayog is anticipated to pave the way for synergies for a new age of collaboration and cooperation between the Centre and states and union territories in the push toward creating a stable, sustainable, and inclusive India.

"As India commemorates 75 years of Independence, it is the need of the hour for the states to be agile, resilient and self-reliant and move towards 'AatmaNirbhar Bharat' in a spirit of cooperative federalism," an official statement reads.

The National Conference of Chief Secretaries was conducted in Dharamshala in June 2022 as part of the preparations for this gathering, and it was the end of a six-month intensive exercise by the Centre and States.

The Prime Minister presided over the conference, which was attended by the Chief Secretaries of all States and UTs, as well as top officials from the Central and State Governments.

According to the announcement, the conference is especially significant as the country enters Amrit Kaal in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic and as India prepares to host the G20 Presidency and Summit next year.

The summit will also emphasise the significance of India's presidency for the federal system, as well as the role that states may play in recognising their success at the G-20 Platform.

The Prime Minister of India; Chief Ministers of all states and union territories with legislatures; Lieutenant Governors of other UTs; Ex-Officio Members; Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog; Full-Time Members, NITI Aayog; and Union Ministers as Special Invitees compose the governing council.

The meeting has been boycotted by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
