The Rajkiya Medical College will be built at a cost of more than Rs 280 crore.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid down the foundation stone of Rajkiya Medical College, Kushinagar, and various other development projects.

While inaugurating the projects, PM Modi paid his respect to Maharishi Valmiki. "Today on the auspicious day of Valmiki Jayanti I am feeling delighted while announcing development projects for Kushinagar. Valmiki through Ramayan taught us how through symposiums of collective consciousness one can attain the impossible."

The medical college will be built at a cost of more than Rs 280 crore. The medical college will be able to host a 500-bed hospital and will also provide admissions to 100 students in the MBBS course in academic sessions 2022-2023.

  • While taking a dig at SP and Congress, PM Modi said that the parties previously in power only cared about their family's development as they had no concern for the society or the nation. Taking a jibe at the opposition in Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said that the policies of the government which was in the state before 2017 was free to the mafia and there was corruption all around, people were being looted openly. But today, under the leadership of CM Yogi, the mafia has been apologizing and is also suffering the most.
  • Shifting the focus to the farmers for the upcoming UP assembly elections, PM Modi said that the government of double engine is setting new records of procurement for farmers  So far, about Rs. 80,000 crore has reached the bank accounts of the farmers of UP and over Rs. 37,000 crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of UP farmers from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
  • PM Modi also said that the central government has started another scheme that will open new doors of prosperity for people living in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh in the future. The name of this scheme is- PM Swamitva Yojana. Under this people are getting ownership of the houses and proper documentation is being done.
