In First Podcast With Zerodha CEO, PM Modi Talks Of His Mistakes, Global Conflicts And NDA's Two Terms

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set make his first-ever appearance in a podcast on Nikhil Kamath's show, 'People by WTF', which will be released soon.

The latest episode of Nikhil Kamath's popular podcast 'People by WTF' has sparked a massive buzz online after the Zerodha co-founder released a two-minute trailer revealing his next guest, who surprisingly turned out to be none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"People with The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi | Ep 6 Trailer" Kamath captioned his tweet as he shared the trailer.

Kamath had shared a teaser on January 8 in which he was seen talking to a guest in Hindi. He did not reveal the guest's name or face, which left people guessing who the guest might me. In this clip, Kamath reminisced about a past meeting with the surprise guest during a startup conference in Bengaluru and how he was asking the latter questions even then.

When the guest laughed at the end of the promo to this incident, viewers recognised the distinct voice, guessing it was potentially PM Modi's first-ever podcast.

A day later, he released the extended trailer for the episode, where he can be seen having a candid conversation with the PM.

"I am sitting here in front on you and talking, I feel nervous. It's a tough conversation for me," Kamath tells PM Modi.

To this, the PM, who is set to make his podcast debut with this appearance, said: "This is my first podcast, I don't know how it'll go with your audience."

Politics, Global Conflicts, NDA Terms, And Mistakes

Nikhil Kamath then goes on to share what he hopes to discuss during the podcast saying that he wants to draw parallels between politics and entrepreneurship through their conversation. He also asks PM Modi to excuse him for his Hindi, following which PM reassures him saying, "Hum dono ki aise hi chalegi".

The Zerodha CEO then asks PM Modi to advise youngsters looking forward to join politics. Replying to this, PM Modi stressed that good people should become politicians and that "they should come with a mission, not just ambition."

Kamath then questioned PM Modi about one of his old speeches when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. "I said something in an insensitive way. Mistakes happen. Manushya hu, devata thodi hoon [I am human, not a God]," he said.

The two also discussed about the ongoing wars around the world. "Aaj puri duniya war ki taraf chal rahi hain. Should we be worried about what is happening in the world?", Kamath questioned the PM.

To this, PM Modi replied, "Crisis Ke samay humnein lagataar kahan hain ki hum neutral nahin hain. Main shanti k paksh mein hoon [ I have been saying constantly that I am not neutral. Iam in favour of peace]."

Replying to a question on the differences between his first and second term as the PM, Modi said: "Pehli term mein toh log mujhe bhi samajhne ki koshish karte the, aur main bhi Delhi ko samajhne ki koshish karta tha.[During my first term, Indian people were trying to understrand me, and I was trying to understand Delhi]."

The trailer ended with a message for the viewers that the full episode will be released soon.
