296-Km-Long Bundelkhand Expressway, Built At A Cost Of Rs 14,850 Cr, To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi On Saturday
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the government has been dedicated to improving connectivity across the country, with road infrastructure upgrading being a vital component.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway at Kaitheri village, Orai tehsil, Jalaun district on Saturday, with the goal of improving connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, news agency ANI reported.
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the government has been dedicated to improving connectivity across the country, with road infrastructure upgrading being a vital component.
“A significant endeavour towards this was the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of Bundelkhand Expressway by the Prime Minister on February 29, 2020. The work on the Expressway has been completed within 28 months and it will now be inaugurated by the Prime Minister,” the PMO statement was quoted by ANI in its report.

Bundelkhand Expressway
The 296 km four-lane expressway was built at a cost of roughly Rs 14,850 crore by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and can be expanded to six lanes in the future.
It runs from NH-35 at Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot district to near Kudrail in Etawah district, where it connects with the Agra-Lucknow expressway. Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, and Etawah are among the districts it goes through.
Along with enhancing regional connections, the Bundelkhand Expressway would spur economic growth, leading in the creation of thousands of employment for locals. According to the PMO, work on the construction of an industrial corridor in the Banda and Jalaun districts, adjacent to the Expressway, has already begun.
