PM Modi addresses media ahead of Monsoon Session, hopes for constructive discussions

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi addressed media ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament which resumed on Monday morning. PM Modi said that he has spoken to all parties ahead of session and that “Everyone is in the mood for further development”. He also said, “All parties should work together to see to it that constructive discussions take place in this parliament session. I hope that the monsoon session observes high standards of discussions and important decisions are made”. GST is the prime agenda of the Government for this monsoon session. Recently, Parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu also met Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma to discuss GST bill and to seek opposition’s consensus on the long pending bill. While the bill for the introduction of Goods and Services Tax across the country remains a priority, the Government has listed around a dozen bills pending introduction, consideration and passage during this session of Parliament.
