Anil Deshmukh Asked Vaze To Collect Rs 100 Cr For Him Per Month: Param Bir Singh Tells Uddhav Thackeray

Sachin Vaze was called by Shri Anil Deshmukh, Hon'ble Home Minister, Maharashtra to his official residence, Param Bir Singh said in his letter.

Mumbai: In a sensational revelation, former Mumbai Police Comissioner Param Bir Singh on Saturday wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray alleging that state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been involved in several 'malpractices' including connection with arrested cop Sachin Vaze.

In his letter to the CM, which has been accessed by ABP LIVE, Singh also alleged that Maharashtra Home Minister had asked suspended Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore for him every month.

"Sachin Vaze who was heading the Crime Intelligence Unit of the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police was called by Shri Anil Deshmukh, Hon'ble Home Minister, Maharashtra to his official residence Dyaneshwar several times in last few months and repeatedly instructed to assist in the collection of funds for the Hon'ble Home Minister," Param Bir Singh claims in his letter.

"In and around mid-February and thereafter, the Hon'ble Home Minister had called Shri Vaze to his official residence. At that time, one or two staff members of the Hon'ble Home Minister including his Personal Secretary, Mr. Palande, were also present. The Hon'ble Home Minister expressed to Shri Vaze that he had a target to accumulate Rs. 100 crores a month," the letter added.

Meanwhile, hitting back at Singh, Deshmukh tweeted that the ex-Mumbai police chief was leveling false allegations against him to save himself from action in the SUV case and the case related to the death of Mansukh Hiran.

Earlier in the day, the National Investigation Agency (NTA) took over the Mansukh Hiren murder case that is linked to the bomb scare outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence.

The body of Hiren was found in a creek in Thane on March 5. Earlier Maharashtra's ATS was probing Hiren's death. On March 3, the NIA had taken over the probe of the explosive laden SUV found outside Mukesh Ambani's house Antilia in Mumbai on February 25. There was also a threat note in the vehicle.

The anti-terror probe agency arrested Mumbai police official Sachin Vaze on March 13. He was sent to NIA custody till March 25.
