'Bold, Righteous Move': Kerala, Karnataka Pahalgam Victims' Kin Applaud Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor'

Dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’, the military operation was carried out early Wednesday and involved targeted strikes on nine identified terrorist infrastructure points, including Bahawalpur.

Families of the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack have welcomed the Indian Army’s precision strikes on terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, hailing the action as a fitting tribute to their loved ones.

Dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’, the military operation was carried out early Wednesday and involved targeted strikes on nine identified terrorist infrastructure points, including Bahawalpur, a known stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) group. The strikes came just two weeks after the brutal Pahalgam assault that claimed 26 lives and sparked national outrage.

'Bold, Righteous Move': Kin Of Victims Hail 'Operation Sindoor'

Bharat Bhushan, one of the Pahalgam victims, was mourned deeply by his father, Channaveerappa, who expressed a sense of justice following the retaliatory action. "After bringing the body of my son, I had thought that PM Modi will take some steps to control these terror attacks and definitely govt of India has done it...he has taken good decisions," he said, as per ANI.

Ravi Kiran, a relative of Manjunath Rao — another victim from Karnataka — said the family felt both pride and relief. "We are thrilled by this retaliation. The name 'Sindoor' itself got us thrilled...26 people were killed in Pahalgam...this is a tribute to all Pahalgam victims," he said.

Manjunath’s mother, Sumathi, echoed similar sentiments, adding, "We were hopeful that PM Modi would take good action. Operation Sindoor is an appropriate name for the operation."

Arathi R Menon, daughter of N Ramachandran, another victim, described the military operation as a "bold and righteous move" in contrast to what she called the "cowardice" of the terror attack, reported Manorama.

Meanwhile, Indian Army, in a statement released at 1:44 AM., described the strikes as “precise, controlled, and non-escalatory.” The response followed a high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi on April 29, during which he granted the armed forces full authority to determine the timing and scale of the retaliation.
