Nripendra Misra, P K Mishra reappointed as PM Modi's top aides with cabinet minister rank

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-appointment Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two top aides Nripendra Mishra and PK Mishra, for his second term in office.

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-appointment Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two top aides Nripendra Misra and PK Mishra, for his second term in office. As per the personnel ministry, Nripendra Misra IAS (Retired) has been reappointed as the Principal Secretary to PM Modi, and PK Mishra, IAS (Retired), has been appointed as the Additional Principal Secretary to the PM, with effect from 31 May 2019. During the term of their office, both will be assigned the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Table of Precedence. Their appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier, an order issued by the personnel ministry said. Nripendra Misra is a retired 1967 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. He served as Principal Secretary to the PM, in the previous NDA government as well. He has also served as the chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Telecom Secretary of India and Fertilizers Secretary of India. P K Mishra, is a re-employed 1972 batch IAS officer belonging to Gujarat cadre. He also served as the Additional Principal Secretary to the Pm in the previous government.
