Nirbhaya gang-rape convict Vinay Sharma attempts suicide in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: 2012 Delhi Gang-rape convict Vinay Sharma, who was sentenced to death for mercilessly murdering and raping a student in a moving bus has allegedly attempted suicide in Tihar jail. According to the sources, Sharma consumed pills and hanged himself. He has been admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital. Courtesy: PTI This comes after Sharma sought more security for himself in the jail, by claiming that there’s a threat to his life after he was allegedly beaten up by fellow inmates. Out of 6 convicts, earlier in 2013; Ram Singh killed self in Tihar Jail and was found hanging. Ram Singh was the driver of the bus where the girl was raped.
