PM Modi, Imran Khan Can Solve Kashmir Issue Together: Donald Trump At India-US Bilateral Meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening in New York on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly.

New York: In a span of less than 48 hours, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening in New York on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly, after their mega rally in Houston. The meeting between the two leaders and their delegates, which started at around 9:45 pm IST, is underway at the UN Headquarters, where Trump spoke to media a short while ago. During the press interaction, President Trump said that Iran is number one terror state. When asked about Pakistan, the US President said, "PM Modi gave a message loud and clear to Pakistan on terrorism." The bilateral talk between PM Modi and Trump is underway and both the leaders are expected to discuss various trade agreements. When asked about the Kashmir issue, Trump said, "It will be great if they can work out something on Kashmir." Talking about PM Modi, Trump added that you have a great PM, he will solve all problem. Trump also said he is confident that both PM Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan can solve Kashmir issue together. During the meeting, the US president also assured that India and the US will have a trade deal soon but refused to give a definite timeline. Trump also compared PM Modi with rockstar Elvis Presley and said that he will be able to solve the problem of radical Islamic terror. The US President once again said that he hopes India and Pakistan will resolve the Kashmir dispute soon. Ahead of the bilateral meeting, PM Modi thanked the US president for coming to his Houston event Howdy, Modi. Speaking to reporters, PM Modi said, "I am thankful to Trump that he came to Houston. He is my friend but he is also a good friend of India." The two world leaders are scheduled to have three meetings during this week. The first meeting was held in Houston on September 22. The current meeting is being held the UN headquarters in New York and the third meeting is expected to take place later this week. PM Modi is in the US still September 27.
