Namo Bharat Corridor: Travel From Delhi To Meerut In Just 40 Mins — Check Fares, Stations, Facilities, & More

Public services on the Namo Bharat trains will start from 5 PM on January 5, with a frequency of 15 minutes. Passengers will be able to travel from New Ashok Nagar to South Meerut in just 40 minutes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, January 5, will inaugurate a 13-km stretch of the corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar on the Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor, making the journey between Delhi and Meerut even more convenient. Once operational, passengers will be able to travel from New Ashok Nagar to South Meerut in just 40 minutes.

With the completion of this project, the travel time and distance between Delhi and Meerut will be reduced significantly, cutting the travel time to one-third. This will further boost the convenience of commuters and promote trade and tourism between the two cities.

As of now, only nine stations between Sahibabad and South Meerut across a 42-km section of the corridor are operational. But with tomorrow's inauguration, the operational length of the corridor will extend to 55 km, with the addition of two more stations.

Public services on the Namo Bharat trains will commence from 5 PM on January 5, with a train frequency of 15 minutes. While people travelling from New Ashok Nagar to South Meerut in standard coaches will have to pay ₹150, those preferring premium ones will have to pay ₹225.

13-Km Delhi Section Includes 6-Km Underground Track

Since their operations began, Namo Bharat trains have served over five million passengers. The Namo Bharat Project is aligned with PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which is aimed at facilitating seamless and safe travel. The stations of the Namo Bharat trains are integrated with the existing public transport systems, which include railway stations, metro lines, and bus terminals.

The 13-km stretch which is slated to open tomorrow comprises a 6-km underground section featuring Anand Vihar Station. Following the inauguration tomorrow, Namo Bharat trains will have their first underground operation started.

Meanwhile, construction is underway on other sections of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, including South Meerut-Modipuram and New Ashok Nagar-Sarai Kale Khan.
