PM Modi To Inaugurate Delhi's First Namo Bharat Corridor, 2.8-Km Stretch Of Metro Phase-IV Today

PM Modi to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs. 12,200 crore in Delhi, including the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, Janakpuri-Krishna Park stretch under Delhi Metro Phase-IV.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 12,200 crore in Delhi on Sunday, as per a press release by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). The event, scheduled at 12:15 PM, aims to enhance regional connectivity and ease of travel in the National Capital Region.  

Ahead of the ceremony, the Prime Minister will take a ride on the Namo Bharat train from Sahibabad RRTS Station to New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station at around 11:15 AM.  

A key highlight of the day will be the inauguration of the 13-kilometre stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, connecting Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. This project, valued at approximately Rs 4,600 crore, marks Delhi's first Namo Bharat connectivity and is expected to significantly ease travel between Delhi and Meerut, benefiting millions of passengers with high-speed, comfortable, and reliable transit.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Janakpuri And Krishna Park Stretch Under Delhi Metro Phase-IV

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 2.8-kilometre stretch between Janakpuri and Krishna Park under Delhi Metro Phase-IV. This project, worth Rs 1,200 crore, is the first segment of Phase-IV to be launched. "This will be the first stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV to be inaugurated. The areas of West Delhi such as Krishna Park, parts of Vikaspuri, Janakpuri among others will be benefitted," the PMO stated

Further, the foundation stone for the 26.5-kilometre Rithala-Kundli section of Delhi Metro Phase-IV will also be laid. Estimated at Rs 6,230 crore, this corridor will connect Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, enhancing connectivity in North-West Delhi and neighbouring regions. The project will serve areas including Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli, improving access to residential, commercial, and industrial zones while integrating travel across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, as per the PMO statement.  

In addition to these connectivity projects, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art building for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini, New Delhi. The Rs 185 crore facility will house advanced healthcare and research infrastructure, including dedicated blocks for administration, outpatient and inpatient services, and treatment.  

The events come as the national capital is set to witness an assembly election expected to be held in February this year.
