Monsoon Session of Parliament between July 18-August 10

During the session, which will have 18 working days, the government is expected to push for bills including those related to triple talaq and constitutional status for the National Commission for Other Backward Classes, reported news agency IANS.

New Delhi: The monsoon session of Parliament will be held from July 18 to August 10, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said on Monday. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs. During the session, which will have 18 working days, the government is expected to push for bills including those related to triple talaq and constitutional status for the National Commission for Other Backward Classes, reported news agency IANS. According to Parliament’s website, in the second half of the Budget session which presided from March 5, productivity was just four per cent in the Lok Sabha and eight per cent in the Rajya Sabha. Both Congress and the BJP have accused each other for not letting Parliament function.
