Monitor Factors That Could Disturb Communal Harmony: MHA Issues Advisory Ahead Of Hanuman Jayanti
MHA has issued an advisory to the states ensuring law and order situation during Hunaman Jayanti on Thursday after violence erupted on Ram Navami in several parts of the country last week.
New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advisory to the states ensuring a law and order situation during Hunaman Jayanti on Thursday after violence erupted on Ram Navami in several parts of the country last week.
"The governments are encouraged to ensure the maintenance of law and order, peaceful observance of the festival, and monitoring of any factors that could disturb communal harmony in society," it said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, the Delhi Police took out a flag march in Delhi's Jahangirpuri where violent clashes took place during the Hanuman Jayanti rally last year. The Delhi Police has also denied permission to Vishwa Hindu Parishad and another group to take out a procession during the occasion tomorrow.
The MHA has issued an advisory to all states in preparation for Hanuman Jayanti. The governments are encouraged to ensure the maintenance of law and order, peaceful observance of the festival, and monitoring of any factors that could disturb communal harmony in society.

West Bengal government has also issued guidelines for tomorrow after the state saw widespread violence in the Howrah and Hooghly districts of the state during Ram Navami. As per the guideline, organisers who will have a license to take out processions will be responsible for any security lapse.
The guideline also said that number of people participating in the processions should not exceed the number of participants mentioned in the application.

No fireworks and no provocative speeches during the processions, the guideline by the Bengal government stated.
Violent clashes erupted during Ram Navami festivities in various parts of the country with Bihar and Bengal most affected states. Nalanda and Sasaram districts in Bihar and Hooghly and Howrah in Bengal saw a series of violent clashes. Gujarat and Maharashtra also reported incidents of violence including stone pelting.
