Modi Has Made Adani So Big, He's Become As Fat As Elephant: Kharge At Congress Plenary Session

“Few people are looting the property of this country. Modi ji is giving our money and property to one person by buying each (property) from us and with that money," Kharge said.

New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani on Sunday saying that Modi was giving money and property of the people of the country to Adani. Speaking on the third day of the party’s 85th plenary session in Raipur, Kharge said, “Few people are looting the property of this country. Modi ji is giving our money and property to one person by buying each (property) from us and with that money.”

“Making that Adani so big that today that person has become as fat as an elephant..” he added.

Through its plenary session, the Congress party targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and Adani.

During the session, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that during the parliament session, he asked how businessman Gautam Adani reached the second spot among the world's richest. "He got all the benefits that no one gets. I only asked what the relationship is between PM and Adani. All BJP workers started saving Adani and said those who attack Adani are 'desh drohi'," he added.

"One cannot ask questions about Adani in Parliament; we will continue to ask questions till the truth comes out," he said as quoted by PTI.

Talking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, "learned a lot. I walked for my nation from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Thousands connected to me and party during the yatra. I listened to all problems of farmers & realised their pain."

He said that PM Modi said that even he hoisted the Indian tricolour at Lal Chowk, but he could not understand the difference. "Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolour with 15-20 people of the BJP but 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' unfurled the flag with lakhs of the youth of Kashmir."
