Will Continue To Ask Questions On Adani Till Truth Comes Out: Rahul Gandhi At Congress Plenary Session

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday addressed the party's 85th plenary session on its third day and attacked the Central government on various issues.

Congress Plenary Session: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday addressed the party's 85th plenary session on its third day. The leader shared his experiences from the Bharat Jodo Yatra and also attacked the BJP-led Central government over various issues.

Responding to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's recent remarks, he said, "Was our economy very big when we were fighting with the Britishers." He said that it is not 'nationalism' but 'cowardice'.

Gandhi said that during the parliament session, he asked how businessman Gautam Adani reached the second spot among the world's richest. "He got all benefits that no one gets. I only asked what the relationship is between PM and Adani. All BJP workers started saving Adani and said those who attack Adani are 'desh drohi'," he added.

"One cannot ask questions about Adani in Parliament; we will continue to ask questions till the truth comes out," he said as quoted by PTI.

Attacking the government on the Adani issue, he alleged that Adani was working against the country by cornering the entire wealth, reported PTI.

According to the PTI report, Gandhi said, "The battle for the country's freedom was against one company as it had taken away all wealth and ports, etc."

"History is being repeated. This is work against the country and if that happens the entire Congress party will stand against it," he added, quoted PTI.

Talking about the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, "learned a lot. I walked for my nation from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Thousands connected to me and party during the yatra. I listened to all problems of farmers & realized their pain."

He added that the party should formulate a new plan to carry forward the "tapasya " undertaken through the Bharat Jodo Yatra and that he along with the entire country will participate in it, reported PTI.

He said that PM Modi said that even he hoisted the Indian tricolour at Lal Chowk, but he could not understand the difference. "Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolour with 15-20 people of the BJP but 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' unfurled the flag with lakhs of the youth of Kashmir."

"52 years past and I still don’t have a home, but when I reached Kashmir, it felt like home. Yatra was to make people of all castes and age groups feel at home. People were not talking about political things to me during yatra but it all changed when I reached Kashmir," he was quoted as saying by ANI.

Rahul said that the yatra instilled love for tricolour in the youth of Kashmir alleging that BJP had taken it away. "We instilled love for tricolour in the youth of Kashmir through Bharat Jodo Yatra, BJP had taken it away," he said at the session.

He also said that he felt the pain of women, and youth during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
