'Will Go To Court': Chirag Warns Centre If Uncle Pashupati Paras Is Inducted In Modi Cabinet On LJP Quota

While speaking to reporters, Chirag said making him (Pashupati Paras) a Union Min on LJP quota is not possible as the party's executive board expelled him.

Patna: Fumed over reports of his uncle's induction into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Union Cabine later this week, former Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan on Tuesday said that Pashupati Nath Paras could not be appointed as a minister from LJP quota as he is no longer a party member.

Chirag is currently locked in a bitter battle with his uncle over the struggle for power ever since his father - Ram Vilas Paswan - passed away.

While speaking to reporters, Chirag said making him (Pashupati Paras) a Union Min on LJP quota is not possible as the party's executive board expelled him.

"I informed PM through a letter. If he's appointed min as MP of my party I'll go to court. No problem if he's appointed minister as independent MP or from JDU," Chirag said.

Chirag's reaction came amid the buzz of Union Cabinet expansion by July 8 and several reports suggest that LJP is likely to get a berth.

Further hitting out at Janata Dal United (JDU), Chirag said that the countdown for Bihar government has begun. "JDU politicians should pray that the Cabinet expansion does not take place otherwise the first breakdown will occur in Nitish Kumar's party," he said.

Chirag Paswan was removed as the leader of the LJP in the Lok Sabha last month after five out of the six MPs wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker. His uncle and Ram Vilas Paswan's younger brother Pashupati Kumar Paras was elected as the leader of the LJP in the Lower House.
