In the video, .Netta D'Souza is seen spitting at cops from inside a bus when some Congress workers were being detained

A video of Mahila Congress President Netta D'Souza spitting at police personnel during a protest in Delhi against ED summons to Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald money laundering case went viral on Tuesday. In the video, tweeted by ANI, Netta D'Souza is seen spitting at cops from inside a bus when some Congress workers were being detained by Delhi Police.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla called the incident "shameful and disgusting". "Shameful and Disgusting. After beating up cops in Assam, holding their collar on Hyderabad now Mahila Congress President Netta Dsouza spits at cops & women security personnel merely because Rahul is being questioned by ED for corruption. Will Sonia, Priyanka & Rahul act on her?" Poonawalla tweeted.

Rahul Gandi was questioned by the probe agency for the fifth day in the money laundering case on Tuesday.

Several top Congress leaders, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his Chhattisgarh counterpart Bhupesh Baghel, staged a satyagraha at the party headquarters in Delhi, alleging "misuse" of the ED and "harassment" of Rahul Gandhi.

The protesting leaders had announced a march to Jantar Mantar, but the police prevented them for lack of permission, PTI reported.

The incident comes days after a case was registered against Congress leader and former MP Renuka Chowdhury for grabbing a policeman's collar in Hyderabad during a similar protest. In the video, Chowdhury was seen arguing with the policeman before being dragged by female cops towards a police van.

Speaking to reporters later, Renuka Chowdhury said she had lost her balance and fell on the policeman while being pushed during the protest. "I have a problem with my leg. I was losing my balance so I fell on him like that. I will apologise to that man," she had said.
