‘Lotus Will Bloom Once Again’, ‘Will Form Govt With Two-Third Majority In Rajasthan’: Amit Shah

“The BJP will never topple your government but will win the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly polls with a strong mandate,” he added.

Jaipur: Expressing confidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly polls with a two-third majority, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday alleged the “useless and corrupt” Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government must be rooted out in time from the state.

“This useless and corrupt Ashok Gehlot government must be rooted out in time from Rajasthan and the BJP should govern. ‘Lotus’ will bloom once again in the state,” Shah said addressing the BJP’s ‘Janpratinidhi Sankalp Sammelan’ here.

“The BJP will never topple your government but will win the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly polls with a strong mandate,” he added.

Shah, who was on a two-day visit to the Congress-ruled state, alleged that the grand old party implemented the ‘Gareeb Hatao’ slogan instead of ‘Gareebi Hatao’.

“Congress hear me out, instead of ‘Gareebi Hataao’, you did 'Gareeb Hataao'. Modi government constructed toilets and provided gas cylinders to more than 11 crore and 13 crore households respectively,” ANI quoted Shah as saying.

“We gave medical facilities of Rs 5 lakh to 60 crore poor,” he added.

The Congress wrested power from the BJP in the 2018 elections, winning 99 seats, and formed the government with the support of its alliance partners. The BJP won 73 out of the 199 seats that went to polls.

Election to the Ramgarh seat was delayed in 2018 due to the death of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Laxman Singh.

The Congress later won the Ramgarh seat in the polls, which were held in January 2019. With this win, the Congress secured 100 seats in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly.
