Kuber Group Boss Vikas Malu Among 4 Hurt In Rolls-Royce & Oil Tanker Crash In Nuh, SIT Formed: Reports

Kuber Group director Vikas Malu was among four people who got injured after their Rolls-Royce collided with an oil tanker in Haryana's Nuh.

Industrialist and Kuber Group director Vikas Malu was among the four people injured in an incident involving a Rolls-Royce and an oil tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai-Baroda Expressway in Haryana's Nuh, reported PTI. The incident happened on Tuesday when the luxury car rammed into the oil tanker which was being driven on the wrong side near Umri village under Nagina police station limits. The tanker lost its balance and overturned resulting in the death of the driver of the tanker and his helper, says an FIR registered by police on August 22, the report added.

The FIR says that it was the Rolls-Royce that came from behind and hit the front tyre of the oil tanker after which it turned turtle. The three occupants of the luxury vehicle were injured and admitted to Medanta Hospital Gurugram.

The injured include the director of the Kuber group, Vikas Malu, reported PTI citing police. They added that Malu was undergoing treatment at the hospital and his statement will be recorded once he is discharged. The other occupants of the car have been identified as Divya and Tasbir.

Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijaraniya confirmed that the injured include Vikas Malu, the industrialist associated with the Kuber Group, according to an NDTV report.

SP Bijaraniya said that the tanker had taken a U-turn on the highway and the Rolls-Royce Phantom was travelling at a very high speed when the accident took place, reported NDTV. He added, as per the report, that the details of the car's exact speed will be available only after a scientific examination.

"We have registered the case against the driver of the luxury car but yet to confirm who was behind the wheels since all the occupants are undergoing treatment and have been declared unfit to record the statements," said Bijarniya, as quoted by HT.

Meanwhile, police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the accident, reported HT.

ASI Ashok Kumar said that after the oil tanker overturned, flames started rising from its engine. He said that there were other people in a different car who were travelling with the occupants of the Rolls-Royce. They pulled out the three injured persons from the car and saved their lives, Kumar added. The deceased tanker driver has been identified as Rampreet and his helper as Kuldeep. Police said both belonged to Uttar Pradesh and their families have been informed about the incident.

Another occupant of the tanker, Gautam, is recovering from his injuries at his house in Haryana's Ujina, as per NDTV.

"Vikas Malu's physical condition is such that he cannot drive. He cannot walk properly. How will he drive? Vikas has 7-8 drivers working for him and the Rolls Royce was being driven by a driver named Tasbir," Thakur told India Today.
