J&K: Major Terror Bid Averted Ahead Of Independence Day, 4 Jaish Terrorists Arrested
The top cop said the arrested JeM terrorists were planning to plant a vehicle-based IED in Jammu before August 15.
Jammu: A major tragedy has been averted in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the 75th Independence Day with the police arresting four Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists.
“Arrested terrorist Ijahar Khan was asked by a Pak-based commander to do reconnaissance of Panipat Oil Refinery which he did and sent videos to Pak. He was tasked to do reconnaissance of Ram Temple in Ayodhya but was arrested before it,” ANI quoted the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu as saying.
The top cop said the arrested JeM terrorists were planning to plant a vehicle-based IED in Jammu before August 15.
“Terrorist Ijahar Khan of UP's Shamli disclosed that a Jaish commander in Pakistan had asked him to collect weapons from near Amritsar which would be dropped by a drone,” he added.

The arrested terrorists, according to police, were planning collection of arms dropped by drones and supply to active terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammed in Kashmir valley.
“They were planning collection of arms dropped by drones and supply to active terrorists of Jaish-e- Mohammed in Kashmir valley; planting a vehicle based IED in #Jammu before 15th August & reconnaissance of important targets in other parts of the country,” IGP Jammu tweeted.
“Muntazir Manzoor@ Saifulla R/O Prichoo Pulwama, a member of Terrorist Organization Jaish-e-Mohammed was the first to be arrested in this chain & from him Pistol,Magazine,rounds & Hand grenades were recovered. His truck used for transporting weapons to the valley was also seized,” IGP Jammu posted on the micro-blogging platform.
