Kapil Sharma endorses AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi

NEW DELHI: Ace comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has voiced support for Aam Aami Party Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich alias Ghuggi and urged people to vote for the stand up comedian-turned-politician in upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. "I have never campaigned for any political party but always held that all of us must vote for a deserving candidate. Gurpreet is an honest person with a good thinking and sensible frame of mind." Sharma said. Sharma, who currently hosts the 'The Kapil Sharma Show', said that Ghuggi's success will be people's success. "To work for the development of your constituency and the state, you must vote for a good candidate. He's a person who wants to work for the people and bring significant changes to their lives. I urge you all to vote for Gurpeet Singh Waraich," he added. Sharma also said that for future of Punjab, people must cast their votes wisely. AAP has fielded Ghuggi from Batala constituency. A native of Khokhar Faujian village in Batala, Ghuggi joined AAP in February 2016 and was appointed the party's Punjab convener replacing Sucha Singh Chhotepur who was removed from the post after a video clip surfaced showing him allegedly taking bribe in exchange for poll tickets. Ghuggi, 44 has worked in Hindi movies like Akshay Kumar starrer Singh is Kinng, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. He has also acted in Punjabi flicks like Asa Nu Maan Watna Da, Yaara Naal Bahaara, Jijja Ji, Munde UK De.
