WATCH: Jawaharlal Nehru was not pandit as he ate beef, pork, claims BJP MLA
BJP's Gyan Dev Ahuja has once again courted controversy by saying that India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was not a 'Pandit.'
NEW DELHI: A BJP legislator named Gyan Dev Ahuja from Rajasthan claimed that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was not a Pandit as he used to eat beef and pork.
In a video shared by ANI, Ahuja was heard saying, “Nehru was not a Pandit. One who ate beef and pork, cannot be a Pandit. We know that pig is unholy for Muslims, and the cow is pure for us.”
Gyan Dev Ahuja, who represents Ramgarh constituency had earlier sparked controversy when he said: "The first tribal leader on this earth was Hanuman. Most of the temples are also in his name. We must not disrespect him." In July 2016, amidst the raging JNU row, he stroked a controversy by alleging that the premier university is a hub of sex and drugs where over 3,000 used condoms and 2,000 liquor bottles are daily found.#WATCH: BJP MLA Gyan Dev Ahuja says, "Nehru was not a Pandit.
