Jammu & Kashmir: Jaish-e-Mohammed Terrorist Arrested; Arms & Ammunition Recovered

New Delhi: In a major success for the Jammu and Kashmir police, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist was arrested in Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.
The arrest comes days after intelligence alert about possible terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir and New Delhi areas, by Jaish terrorists who have infiltrated from across LoC.
Mohsin Manzoor Salhea, a resident of Arampora-Azadgunj area, was arrested on a credible input during an anti-militant operation in Baramulla town, he said.
According to the spokesperson, Salhea was affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM and was wanted in two cases registered at the Baramulla police station this year.
Salhea was part of a group involved in planning and executing terror attacks in the area, he said.
Incriminating material, including arms and ammunition, were recovered from his possession, the spokesperson said.
As per intelligence alert issued days ago, which was considered in the A category, three to four highly motivated and armed terrorists may have infiltrated into the national capital. Security has been beefed up across the city, and the Delhi Police Special Cell conducted several raids at different locations.
Days before that, intelligence inputs suggested that Indian Air Force bases were under threat of suicide attack by Jaish terrorists. Airbases in and around Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab were earlier put on alert after the intel warning.
