A tragedy was prevented on Saturday evening with the early identification of an improvised explosive device (IED) hidden along a main route here, according to a police officer, news agency PTI reported. A police squad discovered the IED, which was hidden inside a tiffin box, near Narwal, according to the official. He stated that traffic on the Narwal-Sidrah route was immediately halted following the identification of the IED, which was later removed by the bomb disposal unit.

The IED, which was hidden inside a tiffin box, was discovered at a police checkpoint on the Sidhra-Narwal highway segment, according to the official. He stated that vehicular activity on the route was immediately halted upon the identification of the IED, which was later removed by the bomb disposal unit.

According to the official, a complaint has been filed and attempts are being made to apprehend individuals responsible for the IED's placement. The attempt to set off an explosive in Jammu was prevented by police awareness, according to the official. A police official stated that about 5.30 p.m., they received information about a suspicious object on the highway near Narwal and deployed teams, including the dog squad.
