J&K: Two Terrorists Gunned Down In Srinagar Encounter, Three Security Personnel Injured

The top cop said one of the slain ultras was involved in the attack on the CRPF personnel in Maisuma area of the city earlier on April 4.

New Delhi: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, on Sunday said a total of two terrorists were killed in the encounter in Srinagar city.

“02 #Pakistani #terrorists who were involved in recent #terror attack on CRPF Personnel, neutralised in #Srinagar #Encounter. Arms & ammunition, other incriminating materials recovered: IGP Kashmir @JmuKmrPolice,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The top cop said one of the slain ultras was involved in the attack on the CRPF personnel in Maisuma area of the city earlier on April 4.

“One of the #terrorists involved in recent #terror attack on CRPF Personnel, killed in #Srinagar encounter and other is trapped. #Encounter is going on: IGP Kashmir @JmuKmrPolice,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The operation is going on, the Kashmir Zone Police said, adding the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are on the job, ANI reported.

One of the terrorists killed was involved in the recent attack on a CRPF personnel in Srinagar, police said.

At least three security force personnel, police added, were injured in the encounter, PTI reported.

A police official told the news agency that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Bishember Nagar area of Srinagar city after receiving inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

The police official said the terrorists fired upon the security forces as they were conducting the searches in the area,

The security forces retaliated, the police official added, resulting in an encounter in which the two terrorists were killed.
