New Delhi: Terrorists fired upon two non-locals, who were working at a private school in Bondialgam area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, news agency ANI reported.

According to the report, one of the victims hails from Bihar while the other one is from Nepal. They are currently undergoing treatment at Government Medical College in the district, police said.

“Terrorist fired upon two outside labourers (01 from Bihar & second from Nepal), who were working at a private SAPS school at #Bondialgam in #Anantnag district. Both of them are being shifted to hospital. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

Earlier in the day, police arrested a terrorist associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The arrested person, identified as Zubair Ahmad Dar, resident of Arigam Pulwama, was working as an associate of militant outfit LeT and was tasked to carry out attacks on security forces and non-local laborers in the area, police said.

According to police, joint forces of Pulwama Police, Army 44 RR and 183 BN CRPF arrested the militant associate of LeT outfit during a surprise check at Khamri Chowk in the district.

One hand grenade has been recovered from his possession and a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Pulwama police station. Further probe on the matter has been initiated, police added.

Meanwhile, the army foiled an infiltration bid and gunned down a militant in an encounter along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Thursday, PTI reported.

The soldiers challenged the infiltrators, who opened fire on them. In an ensuing fire fight, one terrorist was killed.
