Infiltration Bid Foiled In JK's Baramulla A Day After Pahalgam Terror Attack
In an official statement, the Army said that two to three terrorists attempted to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan near Uri Nala in North Kashmir on the morning of April 23.

The Indian Army on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, a day after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam sparked tensions in the Valley.
In an official statement, the Army said that two to three terrorists attempted to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan near Uri Nala in North Kashmir on the morning of April 23.
"The alert troops on LC challenged and intercepted them, resulting in a firefight," the Army said. It further said that the operation is ongoing.

The infiltration bid came in less than 24 hours after at least 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning held a meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval,Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at the Delhi airport upon his arrival from Saudi Arabia. He took stock of the situation following the terror attack in Pahalgam. Immediately upon his return, PM Modi was briefed by the officials about the gruesome attack targeting tourists in the Valley.
The Congress chief said that late on Tuesday night, he spoke to home minister Amit Shah, J-K Chief Minister Abdullah, and senior J-K Congress leaders about the "despicable carnage" in Pahalgam that killed at least 26 people.
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said spoke with Amit Shah, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Congress' J&K unit president Tariq Karra to get an update on the situation after the horrific Pahalgam terror attack. "The families of victims deserve justice and our fullest support," he said.
