Indian Coast Guard Send Advisories Through Ship, Aircraft Over Cyclonic Storm 'Biparjoy': Watch

Indian Coast Guard officers reach out to fishermen and others to warn them of cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' through ship, aircraft and radar stations.

The Indian Coast Guard is working from sky to sea to warn people of the incoming cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' so that they can move away from the vulnerable places. Indian Coast Guard has initiated outreach to advise the fishing community, mariners and stakeholders of Gujarat, Daman & Diu to take necessary precautions and safety measures in view of the cyclonic storm. News agency ANI shared two videos of Indian Coast Guard officers informing about the dangers of remaining near sea areas as 'Biparjoy' set to intensify. One of the officers is communicating the advisory through aircraft while the other is doing so through a ship.

"For the past week, all coast establishments of the Indian Coast Guard are conducting community interactions with fishermen to take adequate precautions in view of the cyclone and reiterate that no fishing activity should be undertaken," tweeted ANI citing Gujarat Information Department.

The severe cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy' forming over the Arabian Sea is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorology Department said.

This comes after cyclone Biparjoy intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm two days back and was predicted to intensify further. In a tweet, the IMD said, "Very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy at 2330 hrs IST of 9th June over east-central Arabian Sea near lat 16.0N & long 67.4E. Likely to intensify further & move north-northeastwards during the next 24hrs."

Furthermore, as per ANI, due to the approaching cyclone Biparjoy, high waves have been observed at Tithal Beach in Gujarat’s Valsad on the Arabian Sea coast. The agency reported that as a precautionary measure, Tithal Beach has been closed to tourists until June 14.

"We told the fishermen not to venture into the sea and they all have come back. People will be shifted to the village at the seashore if needed. Shelters have been made for them. We have closed Tithal Beach for tourists till June 14," Tehsildar TC Patel, Valsad, as quoted by ANI.
