The Indian Army's motorcycle display team, 'Daredevils', achieved a new world record on January 20, 2025, by creating the tallest human pyramid on moving motorcycles. The event took place on the Kartavya Path in New Delhi, where 40 team members formed a 20.4-foot-high pyramid on seven motorcycles. The team travelled a distance of 2 kilometres from Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
The Daredevils are part of the Indian Army's Corps of Signals. The team is known for its motorcycle display skills and holds 33 world records, including entries in the Guinness Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and Limca Book of Records.
The record-setting event was followed by a reception at India Gate, attended by members of the Signals Corps. Lieutenant General KV Kumar, Head of the Corps of Signals, was present to acknowledge the team's effort, the Army said in a statement.
Daredevilry Since 1935
Established in 1935, the team has performed over 1,600 displays across India, including at Republic Day parades, Army Day parades, and other military events. Their performances are noted for showcasing the capabilities of the Indian Army and have been a part of multiple national celebrations.
This achievement is the latest addition to the team's record-setting history and highlights their disciplined approach and technical expertise.
Meanwhile, preparations are on in full swing the 76th Republic Day Parade to held on Kartavya Path. Invites have been sent to nearly 10,000 special guests to witness the parade, it is learnt. Representing various backgrounds, these guests include best performers in different fields, and also those who made best use of government schemes.
