Indian-American Dhivya Suryadevara Named GMs CFO

Detroit (USA): Indian-origin Divya Suryadevara has been appointed as the new Chief Finance Officer for the US-based automaker giant General Motors. Divya Suryadevara, who currently holds the post of Vice President of Corporate Finance, will take over the office from Chuck Stevens on September 1. Chuck Stevens has been in the company for 40 years and will continue to stay as an advisor until he retires. Suryadevara has persued her degree of bachelor’s and master’s in Commerce from the University of Madras in Chennai after which she moved to the USA to complete her MBA from Harvard University. She joind General Motors in 2005. The 39-year-old was congratulated by the company’s CEO, Mary Barra, on Twitter.
