Hyderabad: Doctors Wear Helmets While Treating Patients At Osmania Hospital, Here Is Why!
Doctors claim that building is dilapidated & unsafe, chunks of the roof have fallen off in the over 100-year-old building.
Hyderabad: Doctors and nurses at state-run Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad staged a unique protest by attending to duties and treating patients while wearing helmets on Friday. Through the protest, the staff was trying to draw attention towards the poor condition of the biggest government hospital in Telangana.
Earlier, the doctors, nurses and other staff had conducted out-patients checkups under trees to show protest. They alleged that the pieces of the ceiling fell on patients, doctors, & other staff.
Dr Panda, chairman of Osmania University Joint Action Committee said: “We demand Telangana government to immediately construct a new building & provide a safe environment to doctors & patients”.
The building is said to be over a 100-year-old building and KCR had proposed demolition in 2015 but later repair and renovation preferred.Pieces of the ceiling fell on patients, doctors, & other staff.
