Gurugram: Four Workers Die After Falling Off Crane At Under-Construction Building
According to the police, the workers were fixing a tower crane on the 17th floor and suddenly an iron angle of a shuttering broke down and all of them fell off.
New Delhi: At least four workers died and another was injured when they fell off the 17th floor of an under-construction building in Haryana's Gurugram on Tuesday, said police as reported by news agency PTI. The incident took place around 5.10 pm at the construction site of residential society Emaar Palm Heights at Sector 77 Kherkidaula in Gurugram, said police.
According to the police, the workers were fixing a tower crane on the 17th floor and suddenly an iron angle of a shuttering broke down and all of them fell off.
They were rushed to the nearby hospital where 4 of them were declared brought dead and the critically-injured labourer is undergoing treatment at the facility, said police.
The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Tahmid, a resident of Kishanganj in Bihar, Kamod, Naveen, and Parmesar, all residents of Gopalganj, police said.

The injured has been identified as Raj Kishore of Gopalganj, Bihar.
Meanwhile, Emaar's Spokesperson reacted to the incident and said, "We deeply regret the unfortunate & tragic incident & empathize with victims. Our thoughts are prayers are with the families of the deceased. The accident took place during construction closeout work by the contractor, in a completed tower in Palm Heights."
"We are further investigating the unfortunate incident along with our contractor to understand the cause of this incident," the Spokesperson added.
Gurugram Police, who reached the spot after getting information about the incident, has started an investigation of the case by taking possession of the dead body of a laborer.
